Protecting employees and the general public from ill health, injury or harm is an essential part of Harris Building & Maintenance operating philosophy.
Our Directors are committed to achieving high standards of health and safety performance throughout all company operations. Compliance with the Law and other requirements to which the company subscribe is the minimum acceptable standard we accept, with continuous, cost effective improvement in performance our aim.
This will be achieved by:
- Identifying the risks to health and safety, and implementation of measures to control risk to an acceptable level.
- Setting health and safety objectives. Progress towards achieving the objectives will be monitored by the Directors.
- Providing appropriate financial and physical resources to implement this policy.
- Recognising that the management of health and safety is a prime responsibility of all workers. The company depends on the co-operation, support and commitment of all employees & contractors to achieve the objectives of this policy, with compliance of this policy being a condition of employment.
- Ensuring employees & contractors at all levels are aware of their general and specific responsibilities for health and safety.
- All employees and contractors receiving appropriate information and training, and are competent to carry out their duties and responsibilities.
- Ensuring this policy and its objectives are understood, implemented and maintained through all levels of the company.
- Ensuring this policy and the company health and safety management system is periodically reviewed to ensure that it develops in line with the company.

Our Quality Management System is based on ISO 9001:2000, which ensures that processes are achieved and continuously improved. The Quality System’s implementation and maintenance is the responsibility of the Directors.

- Ensure that Harris Building & Maintenance can provide a broad range of services in house to obtain best practice and control over the services offered.
- Ensure a financially successful business that is competitive in the building & related industries.
- Ensure that this policy is attained; a business plan will be produced and monitored with specific objectives. Periodically this will be reviewed and updated.
- All employees & sub-contractors are responsible for the quality of their own work and for compliance with all requirements of the Quality System and related instructions. All are encouraged to report any quality related matters, to the Directors and to participate positively in internal quality audits and reviews.
